"A native of Greer, South Carolina, Joel has served MMBA since January 2005.  Initially called as the Church Planting Missionary, he was named Director of Missions in 2007.  A ministry veteran of more than 15 years, he has served as pastor of churches in South Carolina, Kentucky, and Maryland.  He has also served as a church planter, and missions professor at both college and seminary levels.  He is a graduate of North Greenville University (B.A.) and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (M.Div., Ed.D.)

 

Joel and his wife Amy have been married for 13 years, and they have two sons; Samuel (7) and Seth (2).  The Rainey's are members of Gethsemane Baptist Church, and live in Mt. Airy."
