Teller Schedule
Tasks of the Church Administration Committee (CAC) include organizing the schedule of Tellers,
and conducting the business of the church. Such business includes budget planning and
recommendations, the CBF implementation of the annual stewardship campaign,
and origination and modification of official church documents.
Please share your business acumen and help to guide CBF smoothly through
day-to-day operations.
2009 Plans for CAC:
To define "music ministry" as a part of the worship experience at CBF.
2008 Summary:
- monitored the CBF budget; we are rejoicing in that we met our financial
goals for 2008. Amen!
- worked with the treasurers and ministerial staff on stewardship issues
- actively engaged in creating an atmosphere of contribution at CBF
in both volunteer service and tithing as a concious desirable service to God
- reviewed By-Law terms and made recommendations to improve and clarify service descriptions
Proposal for new guidelines for CBF Bylaws-specificied positions: 12 Oct 2008:
A discussion of the proposed changes presented at the 7 September 2008
business meeting was held at a specially-called business meeting 12 October 2008.
At that that meeting the following was decided:
- Bylaws Section 2 is updated to reflect the ministry calling of Deacons
(as described in Acts 6:1-6) and as such CBF recognized Deacons as a divinely-inspired
group and as such does not limit their term of service in the bylaws.
- Bylaws Section 5.4 and Section 5.5 relating to the position of Treasurer
and Assistant Treasurer respectively specifically state that the terms of Treasurer
and Assistant Treasurer shall be eligible for re-election to subsequent terms without
being subject to any one-year lapse as would ordinarily be required in bylaws Section 8.
- Current section numbering inserted where relevant (minor adjustment).
With regard to altering Section 8 of the CBF Bylaws to create a provision whereby
non-members of Columbia Baptist Fellowship may serve in
specified positions or on select committees, the feeling of those members present indicated
that such a change was not desired at this time, but that the Fellowship should
make better use of the existing provision in Section 1.2.5 and recruit associate
members. These associate members as currently defined in the CBF Bylaws may:
come as a member in good standing in another Christian denomination
which do not practice immersion baptism, provided that the candidate but
wishing to participate in he ministry of Columbia Baptist Fellowship as led
by the Holy Spirit.
|
Associate members of CBF have access to the privileges and responsibilites
of regular membership with the exceptions of:
- voting rights on church doctrine, including Constitution and Bylaws,
and on financial and policy decisions affecting CBF's relationship with
any Baptist organization which which CBF so choosed to affiliate
- serving as church messengers to the Baptist organizations with which
our church is affiliated
Persons requesting this sort of association with Columbia Baptist Fellowship
should present themselves publically to the congregation requesting this type
of affiliation with our church and should have previously made a public
confession of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
