Mission
Life
presents many opportunities and challenges as well as overwhelming conflicts
and setbacks. Resources for Family Growth exists to help individuals,
families and churches by providing programs and counseling tailored to
meet both enrichment and crisis needs.
Resources for Family Growth is a ministry
of the Baptist Convention of Maryland/Delaware, the Howard Baptist Association
and Columbia Baptist Fellowship. Counseling services and programs
are available to all, regardless of religious affiliation.
Services
Workshops
and Seminars
Resources for Family
Growth hosts a variety of workshops, seminars and support groups.
These may take different forms including lectures followed by question
and answer sessions, groups that meet weekly or monthly, and weekend
retreats. Depending on the topic, these activities are led by RFG's
counselor, other counselors and experts, ministers and laypersons.
in support groups, confidentiality is a part of the group contract.

For information
about current programs or to develop a program for your group, contact
the Resources for Family Growth office. RFG negotiates fees for
programs based upon a groups needs and resources.
Counseling
Resources for Family
Growth offers counseling service to individuals, couples and families.
RFG provides a warm and confidential setting for counseling.
Director Debbie McCustion-Kahl, the principal therapist, uses Family
Systems Theory and Cognitive Therapy.
Counseling Fees
are based upon ability to pay and are determined during the first session.
Consultation
Resources for Family
Growth acts as a resource for churches and the community, referring
individuals and families to other mental health professionals, programs
and groups when appropriate.
Blood Pressure
Screening
R.F.G. and L.O.V.E.
sponsor blood pressure screening periodically. Please call the church
office for the next scheduled screening.
Mothers’ Group
The Mothers’ Group
meets 2nd and 4th Fridays at 10:30 am.
Director
Debra McCustion-Kahl
- National Certified Counselor
Ms. McCustion-Kahl,
a National
Certified Counselor and Ordained Minister, earned a Master
of Divinity with an emphasis in clinical social work from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.;
She has served as Director of Resources
for Family Growth since 1983 where she has counseled individuals, couples
and families and has been a consultant for workshops and seminars on
various topics for groups and churches throughtout Maryland.
