Our Vision Celebrating God’s love Building a Spirit‑filled family Following Jesus Christ In terms of our theological tradition, the Columbia Baptist Fellowship is a pluralistic Protestant congregation in the Baptist heritage. This Fellowship is somewhat unique among Southern Baptist churches in that its membership attracts people from a variety of cultural and religious traditions. First organized in 1970 by five families who desired a style of faith and life that emphasized understanding, openness, the equality of all, and a Gospel that is relevant for all times and all persons, we seek to unite the rich diversity of our fellow humans into a common commitment to God through Jesus Christ. We do not pretend to be more than we are, but, honestly acknowledging our limitations and our sins, we seek to become who we really are—the children of God, sharing together in a family of faith. Our
hope is that you will sense the pulse of this community in Christ and
see the skeleton of structure which supports our life together. However,
the best way to know CBF is not to read a profile about us, but to join
hands with us, to feel the pulse, and to experience with us the
dynamic of worshipping, caring, learning and serving. |
